The Salon Murat collection was created by Haviland in 1893, inspired by the main reception hall of the Élysée Palace – meeting place of the Council of Ministers. Its design features neoclassical gold relief friezes on a solid background, in the style of the First Empire: a frieze of acanthus leaves in scrolling patterns, framed by two Greek meanders and punctuated by five evenly spaced clasps. At the center of the plates, an ornamental rosette completes this prestigious set.
