Pompadour
Created for the Japanese embassies in 1916, this pattern is composed of an Inlay frieze of lozenges, called paradise frieze, and a motif formed of arabesques and rocaille, called the Pompadour frieze, giving the service its name. The bleu de four background accentuates the detail and delicacy of the motifs.
